Veterinarian

Dr. Emma Loessberg grew up in Hilo, Hawaii and lived overseas in Liverpool, England
for two years prior attending Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She studied
Biology and Environmental Studies with a particular interest in songbird research and
migration. After graduating with honors from VCU in 2018, Dr. Loessberg worked as a
Veterinary Assistant in small animal emergency and critical care and fell in love with
veterinary medicine. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary
Medicine in the spring of 2024 and is excited to be back in Richmond to join the
Stratford Hills team! Dr. Loessberg is Fear Free certified and aims to reduce fear,
anxiety, and stress for both pets and their owners during clinic visits. Her goal is to form
lasting relationships with clients built on open communication and continued education
for both herself and pet parents. Her professional interests include preventative
medicine, infectious disease management, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of the clinic
Dr. Loessberg enjoys spending time with her husband, dog (Charlie), and cat (Cannoli),
staying in reading, working in the garden, or sculpting.
