Client Service Representative / Receptionist

The Stratford Hills Veterinary Center, a well-established, small animal, general practice, is seeking to add an experienced Client Service Representative / Receptionist to our friendly team. Our hospital boasts an enjoyable ‘Fear Free’ working environment with great leadership and excellent support staff.

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, however rotating weekend shifts will be required. Our Receptionists are the ‘front line’ representatives of our hospital and we rely on them to provide outstanding customer service to our clients. Main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing Multiple Phone lines 
  • Communicating with the public in a cordial, calm, and knowledgeable manner
  • Accurately maintaining paperless records
  • Clearly communicating with team members
  • Booking appointments and maintaining the flow of the day-to-day schedule
  • Managing the intake of payments for services
  • Communicating discharge instructions to clients
  • Dispensing and having a basic understanding of routine medications and preventatives

Fear Free certification and knowledge of Avimark software is beneficial but not a requirement. Top priority will be given to candidates that have experience in the field, but we would be happy to train the right person. Potential to be cross trained as an assistant is a bonus.

Veterinary Assistant / Technician

The Stratford Hills Veterinary Center, a well-established, small animal general practice, seeks to add an experienced Vet Assistant or Veterinary Technician to our friendly team. Our hospital boasts an enjoyable ‘Fear Free’ working environment with great leadership and excellent support staff. We are dedicated to active learning and our Technicians play an integral role in providing excellent medical care to our patients and customer service to our clients. We provide preventative care, emergency care, routine surgical procedures, dental radiography and cleanings, laser therapy, and more.

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule, however rotating weekend shifts will be required. Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

  • Patient restraint for examinations and procedures
  • Administering medications and vaccines orally, topically, and subcutaneously
  • Pharmacy duties, including basic understanding of commonly used medications and preventatives
  • Lab work: performing various tests on biological samples including urine and blood
  • Radiography including positioning and proper technique
  • Managing digital medical records accurately
  • Additional responsibilities such as surgical assisting, performing dental prophylactic cleanings, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement may be required based on appropriate licensure.

Fear Free certification and knowledge of Avimark software is beneficial but not a requirement. Top priority will be given to LVT candidates and assistants with at least 1 year experience in the field.

Our ideal candidate is caring and compassionate, reliable, a good communicator, shows attention to detail, loves to learn, and is a team player. Please be able to lift at least 40 lbs and have the ability to spend long stretches of time actively on your feet.
