Charles Tucker, VMD
Chief of Staff
Dr. Tucker, our Chief of Staff, earned a VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS degree in Biological Chemistry from Bates College. He moved to Richmond in 2012 after practicing in the Northeast for almost 10 years, and he ultimately found his home at Stratford Hills Veterinary Center (SHVC).
While he enjoys every facet of general practice, Dr. Tucker's professional interests include dermatology, animal behavior issues, and ultrasonography. Additionally, he has been an NVAP-accredited veterinarian through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) since 2012. This accreditation authorizes him to certify the health status of animals who are traveling internationally.
Dr. Tucker believes the best way to care for your dogs and cats is to create a relationship with both the pets and their human parents. That way, he can better learn what your pets' specific needs are and offer more tailored advice for them. Recently, Dr. Tucker has been working to make SHVC a place that dogs and cats aren't afraid of, but instead, a place where they can be comfortable. He firmly believes we owe it to your pets to reduce the stress they feel during their visits here and that we can even make SHVC a place they enjoy coming to!
Dr. Tucker is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA). In his free time, he spends time with his family and his two rescue dogs; he enjoys hiking and geocaching, golfing, home-brewing, and cheering on his favorite Boston sports teams.
